Film crew in mutiny over diva Madonna

She's one of the world's top musical icons, but it appears that Madonna's skills as a movie director are apparently not so impressive - just ask her staff.

Sources say production workers on the set of the Like A Virgin star's debut behind the cameras have allegedly got so fed up with her that they have quit.

Madge, 48, is currently directing her low-budget movie Filth And Wisdom in the capital, and at first had hundreds of behind-the-scenes experts desperate to work with her.

However, since it got underway last month, the Queen of Pop's reputation as a movie guru could be severely in doubt.

In fact, the majority of her workers are asking questions about her abilities.

Boss: Madonna gives clear direction to the film's cast and crew

A source on the London set revealed: "It is Madonna's first stab at directing and it's not going particularly well. Her team are very experienced — she only picked the best so they doubt she's up to the job."

Not only are her talents - or the apparent lack of them - causing mutiny among the staff, but also her diva ways.

It seems that she spends all her time at work demanding to be waited on hand and foot, and doesn't speak to her staff - even those who are at the higher end of the pecking order - with very much respect.

"Madonna is only a little short of being a nightmare. She won't do anything herself. If she wants water, she tells someone to get it for her. She thinks she is still on one of her world tours, where she is the centre of the universe," the source adds.

"Madge's very experienced staff resent her behaviour because she isn't working as part of a team.

"At first her camera crew were delighted to be working on such a project. Now they might be reconsidering. Madonna isn't used to people saying no to her, or not respecting her, so she is shocked."

Luckily for mum-of-three Madge, whose hubby Guy Ritchie has a little more luck in the movie industry (Madonna is also a failed actress), her leading man Richard E Grant is still very much involved.

For now, anyway.
