Former Corrie hunk reduced to skin and bones

The 29-year-old, who quit acting to pursue a career as a Conservative MP, looked gaunt and skinny while running in Auckland, where he is starring in soap opera Shortland Street.

The image is a far cry from the photograph that heralded his arrival on Coronation Street and cemented his image as a gay icon in 1997.

Rickitt plans to return to the UK to contest a seat for the Tories at the next election.

He's been linked with the Chester constituency, close to his home town of Crewe.
