Reality TV star Bianca Gascoigne was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving following after her Mercedes SLK was involved in an accident with a red Honda Civic.

The 20-year-old stepdaughter of troubled ex-footballer Paul Gascoigne had been celebrating her stepmother Sheryl's 42nd birthday and decided to drive to her boyfriend Ibish Peri's home.

Police arrived at the scene in Hemel Hempstead, Herts, just after 7.30pm on but Bianca — who won ITV1 reality show Love Island — collapsed in the street.

She was taken to hospital but later released and arrested. It is believed she was twice the limit.

Police confirmed that a 20-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Watford General Hospital to be checked over, where she was also tested for alcohol.

No-one else was injured in the crash but a source said she was "ashamed".

One said: "After all her stepdad's troubles with drink, this is the last thing she wants people to associate her with."

Bianca was bailed to return to a police station on October 30.
