GMTV film critic injured in gang attack

GMTV film critic Richard Arnold was left covered in blood after he and a male friend were mugged while walking on Clapham Common.

The presenter, 36, and his friend were attacked by a gang of teenagers who kicked and punched them, before escaping with their watches and money.

Robbed: TV critic Richard Arnold.

Arnold was described by witnesses as being "shocked and in tears" after the attack, while his friend was attended by paramedics who treated him for facial injuries.

A former Radio Scotland presenter, Arnold has worked on GMTV since 1997 and also presents gameshow Take It Or Leave It.

Witness Eddie Daly, 43, said: "I saw a guy on the ground. Richard was standing next to him with a woman beside him, looking tearful and upset.

"They said they'd been jumped on by a gang of kids. Richard was ranting and raving. He looked like he was in shock."

A police spokesman said: "We are investigating a robbery."
