"Stupid": chef Gordon Ramsay
Ramsay, who caused anger after comparing Australian TV presenter Tracy Grimshaw to a pig, went on air last night to say sorry.
"It was stupid and careless. But it was not there to hurt in any way."
Admitting that his remarks at a cooking show in Melbourne last week had upset Grimshaw, Ramsay added: "I've had my mum on the phone this morning.
When your mum rings you and it's a b******ing on the phone, you get the picture.
She was disgusted and she wanted to know what happened."
Ramsay said he now wants to make a "face-to-face" apology to Grimshaw.
"Humble pie is something I'll eat the rest of my life," he added.
