Hugh's birthday treat to himself - a £82,000 supercar

Taking delivery of a brand new car is normally enough to make a man smile.

And when the motor is a 187mph Audi R8, you might expect the new owner to be, well, overjoyed.

But even the £82,000 supercar is not quite enough to make Hugh Grant break into a grin.

The Love Actually star, who is 47 today, looked dour as he examined the gleaming car - thought to be a treat to himself - in West London.

He even resisted the urge to go for a spin - preferring instead to ease it round to his garage.

Then he strolled glumly back to his house to prepare for his party, which will feature rock band Van Tramp.

The newly launched Audi is the latest supercar for Hugh, who has previously splashed out on a £168,000 Aston Martin Vanquish.

But the actor, still in an on-off relationship with Jemima Khan, has also enjoyed tootling around London in an old Mercedes.
