Humiliating end to domestic diva Aggie's time on the ice

Aggie Mackenzie has crashed out of Dancing on Ice after a poor skating perfomance that saw her falling on the ice.

In a show which had more catty comments from the judges, a more covered-up presenter Holly Willoughby, Suzanne Shaw performing with a cracked rib and Jayne Torvill skating alone for the first time in decades, the How Clean is Your House? star failed to impress the audience or judges.

She found herself in the bottom two with javelin thrower Steve Backley, who was saved by the judges - but only just.

Judge Jason Gardiner told Aggie and Steve it was a shame he couldn't get rid of the pair of them.

Last night saw the skaters strutting their stuff to the biggest and best Broadway musical hits including songs from Chicago, Grease and Joseph and His Technicolor Dream Coat.

Aggie, who skated her way through I Feel Pretty from West Side Story, scored just 10 points from judges.

Star-shaped moves: despite her efforts, Aggie failed to impress the judges

Judge Jason Gardiner told her: "In your defence, 'I feel pity' for your song choice. I think the viewers who are keeping you in are sadistic."

But after being given the boot, Aggie said Jason had a "certain vulnerability" so she could not be too hard on him.

The show saw Hollyoaks heart-throb and hot favourite to win Chris Fountain bag 25 marks for his killer moves to Time Warp from the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Judge Robin Cousins said: "It was fantastic. I loved it, it was brilliant. It was just good quality skating."

Aggie just couldn't keep up with the competition and was red-faced after slipping on the ice.

She said: "I'm so upset with myself. I'm so embarrassed.

"I'm so sorry Sergey. I'm not hurt, it's just my pride.

"I'm glad its all over I don't think my nerves couldn't have taken much more."

This year has seen the celeb skaters and their partners clocking up the injuries - including a cracked rib sustained by Suzanne Shaw just hours before the evening's show.

She was strapped up - and scored 22 points for her performance to Fame.

Robin Cousins told her: "You are a great performer. You were a little tense and made a few mistakes with your toepicks, but you attacked the performance. You gave more than 100 per cent."

The show also saw Jayne Torvill skate alone for the first time in 35 years, due to partner Christopher Dean having had keyhole knee surgery to repair some cartilage.

Jayne opened the night performing a spectacular Broadway number along with the professional skating partners.

Her skating partner was watching from the sidelines and said he was working to be back on the ice later this week, or early next.

Jayne said: "When I skate on my own it's really strange - it's been great that Chris has been around though."

And following controversy sparked by Holly Willoughby's low-cut dress last week, Phillip Schofield opened the show with a cheeky gag aimed towards his co-host.

He said: "Well, millions of people were watching the show last week expecting one to fall out, but luckily they both stayed in."
