I swear I didn’t curse, says Susan Boyle

Susan Boyle today denied exploding in a four-letter word outburst while judge Piers Morgan praised another contestant on Britain's Got Talent.

The Scottish singer was accused of leaving a bar full of hotel guests "stunned" while watching a television broadcast of the ITV talent show last night. Boyle is said to have shouted "f**k off" after the judge told Shaheen Jafargholi he was "the best singing performance we have heard in the semi-finals so far".

Boyle is also alleged to have stuck two fingers up at the television screen before storming off to her hotel room for the rest of the night.

Her rant was said to have been witnessed by about 150 guests at the Wembley Plaza Hotel.

One said: "Everyone was stunned." A spokeswoman for Boyle today denied the allegations, saying the singer, dubbed the Hairy Angel, left the hotel bar before Shaheen sang.

She added: "Susan was in the bar with friends but was getting hassled by a journalist. The four of them left before Shaheen's performance to watch it in the room."

Boyle, 48, who leapt to fame after her audition performance of I Dreamed A Dream was watched by millions on YouTube, is favourite to win the competition after securing the public vote in Sunday's semi-final.

A record 15.4 million tuned in for Monday's semi-final and 14.9 million watched last night.

Twelve-year-old Welsh schoolboy Shaheen won the judges' vote to land a place in the live grand final on Saturday.
