The former Paris Hilton look alike, who recently escaped to the Med for a getaway with fellow reality television star Nikki Grahame, revealed that moving to Brighton was the main factor that led to the breakdown of her relationship.

Chantelle Houghton said leaving her family in Essex put a strain relationship with Ordinary Boys singer, whom she first met on Celebrity Big Brother in 2006.

She told OK! magazine earlier this year: "I found living in Brighton very hard...I had no family, no friends and it was a really hard time for me."

In contrast, Preston (full name Samuel Preston) had plenty of friends in the city.

Chantelle was reported to have stayed home much of the time while Preston was out partying was left feeling increasingly isolated.

Cynics claimed the whirlwind romance was merely a publicity stunt, with the previously unknown Chantelle becoming a household name over night.

"It hurts me to think that people think my marriage wasn't real," she said.

"I shared a bed with him, I did things with him that you wouldn't do if it was a publicity stunt."

The couple said at the time that their decision to end their marriage came after "much soul-searching and tearful discussions".
