Ready for Christmas: Do Lembit Opik and Gabriela Irimia have marriage in mind for 2008?
Yesterday Kevin Moss, the agent for Transylvanian Miss Irimia, said: "Marriage is definitely on the cards, it's clearly what Lembit wants. They are a very, very happy couple and I'm sure Gabriela would say yes - as long as she liked the ring."
A LibDem insider said: "I don't think we'll have to wait too long for an announcement."
Miss Irimia met Mr Opik in October last year. She has said it was love at first sight but that the relationship remained platonic until he split from Miss Lloyd in the December.

Sian Lloyd has found happiness again after her split from Lembit. She is now engaged to Jonathan Ashman
The MP and the weathergirl had been together for 14 years when she ended things, saying she had grown tired of his fondness for the celebrity lifestyle.
Yesterday Mr Opik refused to say if an engagement was imminent. He said: "Answering questions like this is a bit like taking a peek at your presents before Christmas Day."
In an interview with Closer magazine this week, he and Miss Irimia talk of their future hopes for children. He says: "Gabriela would make a superb mum. She'd be strong, making sure the kids learn values."
Miss Irimia says: "I've definitely imagined myself as having my own family in the future. I'm too young to have children now. I think the right age is around 28 but it depends where my career is."

Lembit and Gabriela plan to celebrate Christmas together. They will split their time between Lembit's family in Leicestershire on Christmas day and celebrating with Gabi's twin sister, and other half of the Cheeky Girls, Monica and their mother Margit.
The pair plan to look for a home together in the New year, Gabi revealed
"We've been really busy with the Cheeky Girls' new album, but it will probably happen next year.
"I'm very traditional, I have to know someone well to move in together," said the Cheeky Girl.
"I've only had one relationship before Lembit, so for me it's not something I treat as a joke."
