It's only rock and roll: Stereophonics frontman in awards show brawl

Stereophonics front man Kelly Jones is known for his gravelly Welsh voice, but after being turfed out of an awards after-party, he's about to better known for his involvement in a good old-fashioned rock and roll brawl.

Jones clashed with security when he was seen entering the women's toilets at the after-party for the Vodafone Live Music Awards at London bar Amika.

Get it on: Rocker Kelly Jones from Welsh band The Stereophonics was ejected from the Vodafone Live post-show party after being caught in the women's toilets

Biff: After being ejected by the doormen a drunken clubber abused Jones sparking a brawl outside the bar

The diminutive rocker insisted he was only checking on his girlfriend, but when the over-efficient doormen attempted to show him the door, reports said the Stereophonics front man refused to go quietly.

And from the looks of things, it was Jones who came off worse, as he held up his arm to reveal an unsightly-looking gash.

The ruckus took place inside the club, and as the doormen bundled Jones out, he was said to have sustained the angry wound when he lashed out and hit some glasses.

Emergency: Paramedics arrive to patch up the brawling rock and roller

It's possible the brawl was fuelled by an evening of free alcohol, but as paramedics arrived to treat Jones' wound, he looked suitably sober.

Until, according to reports, a random clubber walked up to rocker Jones hurling abuse which prompted a mini-brawl between the pair. The pair were separated by the doormen.

Earlier in the evening Jones and his band had performed at the awards ceremony, which was held at west London's Brompton Hall.

Hosted by Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles, performers at the event included Kate Nash, Manic Street Preachers, Calvin Harris, Stereophonics and The Enemy.
