Jade Goody sheds her kebab belly (and tears) at army-style boot camp

She is still, no doubt, in possession of her notoriously big mouth.
But the rest of Jade Goody's body has become decidedly smaller after the ex-Big Brother housemate spent two weeks at a gruelling military-style boot camp for slimmers.
Jade's stay cost her £5,000 – and was arduous enough to reduce her to tears. But the mother of two was so determined to shift her "kebab belly" that she stuck with it and has now dropped an impressive three dress sizes.

The loudmouthed 26-year-old – who famously caused a diplomatic row with allegedly racist comments on last year's Celebrity Big Brother – was due to remain at the camp for seven days.
But she was so impressed by the results she paid £3,000 for an extra week of one-to-one sessions.
The women-only camp is based in the Brecon Beacons, where the SAS trains, and is staffed by former military physical-training instructors.
During her first few days, Jade admits the tough exercise regime and low-fat, high-protein diet left her sobbing and nearly broken.

But as the pounds began to drop off, she found her stride and even won a certificate for "best rugby tackle" after dumping a burly male instructor in the mud.
Jade admits her weight problem developed because of an addiction to takeaways.
"Before I went to the camp I lived on them," she says. "Almost every night I'd order an Indian or Chinese meal with loads of extra portions, starters and sides and finish every scrap. I felt bloated and sluggish and couldn't stop over-eating."
When Jade first appeared in Big Brother in 2002 she put on more than a stone during the show and frankly admitted: "I love my kebab belly but it's got too big."
But there was no place for junk food at the New You Boot Camp in Abercrave. The challenges included a night-time orienteering trek, a river crossing using a makeshift rope bridge, climbing 2,906 ft Pen y Fan, the highest point in the Brecon Beacons.

Food is tightly controlled and a typical day starts at 5.30am with an early-morning jog followed by a sparse breakfast of porridge with a single raspberry and green tea.
All fatty food is banned, along with excessive alcohol and too much caffeine. Instead, the guests have chicken salads, omelettes, grilled fish and fruit. Accommodation is a dormitory with bunk beds in a stone farmhouse.
Jade, who has had a well publicised battle with her weight and has resorted unsuccessfully to liposuction and diet pills, said: "The week was a haze of 5.30am starts, jogs, lessons in nutrition and games like boxing, football and rugby.
"On my third day I burst into tears while abseiling and said I couldn't carry on. But everyone cheered me on and I ended up loving it so much I stayed for two weeks."

A friend said: "She is really pleased with the results. Jade was a size 16 before she went and now she is a size 10 which is a dramatic change.
"She has lost five inches from her waist and feels much healthier. She is well known for her yo-yo weight loss and gain, but this time is determined the pounds will stay off."
Jade confirmed: "Now I jog every morning and haven't touched a takeaway or fizzy drink since I got back."
