She told Closer magazine: "After the miscarriage I did ask: 'Why is all this happening?' I thought it was God's punishment for something I'd done.
"This year it's been one thing after another. But after losing the baby I thought I'd never recover."
Goody was reported to be "absolutely devastated" at the loss of the child she was expecting with 19-year-old boyfriend Jack when the mother-of-two was just under 12 weeks pregnant.
But her comments prompted a response from the Bishop of Croydon.
The Rt Revd Nick Baines issued a statement which said: "Jade Goody can be sure that losing her baby wasn't a punishment from God.
"God doesn't punish people. He stands by them and shares in their suffering as we see in Jesus Christ."
Goody, who has two sons Bobby, four, and Freddy, two, by her ex Jeff Brazier, said she had hoped for a baby girl.
"I dreamt of having a girl and even secretly imagined dressing her in pink," she said.

Jade and boyfriend Jack Tweed were both devastated to learn she had miscarried
The pregnancy had come as a surprise, but both Jade and Jack were looking forward to the baby after some very tough few months following her dramatic exit from the Big Brother house following the Big Brother racism row.
But the miscarriage became the latest in a string of blows for the 26-year-old who has seen her career disintegrate following the racism row.
Her best-selling perfume and autobiography were withdrawn from sale. Her former childminder Luke Rustem, 29, pleaded guilty to stealing nine cheques totalling £12,000 from her.
Then Jade was forced to flee a hotel at 4am as boyfriend Jack wrecked their room during a drunken rampage, running up a £3,000 bill.
And finally she was banned for driving last week for driving without a full licence and insurance.
She told the magazine she has "no one to blame but myself" for her problems.
"Last year, everything I touched turned to gold. My perfume was outselling the Beckhams' and I was at the peak of my career, so I was probably due a tumble.
"I didn't expect it to be so bad, but it's made me stronger," she said.
Jade has been trying to cheer herself up after the miscarriage.
"As odd as it sounds, the first thing I did was go on a sunbed for 20 minutes as I hadn't done one while I was pregnant," she revealed.
Jade and Jack have bought a £1million house near Stansted, Essex.
