Jedward to release debut single with Vanilla Ice

X Factor twins Jedward have signed a deal with Sony Music and will release their debut single, Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby), featuring 90s star Vanilla Ice, at the end of the month.

John and Edward Grimes, 18, performed the single at the National Television Awards last night and will be available to download from January 31.

"A year ago, we were training for cross country competitions and now like our idols, we are living our dream - we really can't believe that we have a single out and are performing with Vanilla Ice," the siblings said today.

Manager Louis Walsh added: "As Under Pressure was the track that catapulted the boys to fame, it seemed only fitting to release the song as their first single."

Jedward - who will take part in The X Factor 2010 Live tour from Monday February 15 - are dedicating the single to their "supportive" fans.

Ice Ice Baby was a number one hit for Vanilla Ice in 1990, but he struggled to match the song's success with his follow-ups and quickly faded from view.

The track was based on a bass riff from Under Pressure, which was also a number one hit for Queen and David Bowie.

The twins became a national phenomenon on the talent show with their tuneless but energetic performances of Ghostbusters, We Will Rock You and Oops, I Did It Again, their gravity-defying quiffs and outrageous outfits.

A CD release has also be planned for February 15.
