'Kate Moss saved me from a beating,' says Lily Allen

Singer Lily Allen has revealed that Kate Moss saved her from being beaten up by a group of girls at the Glastonbury Festival.

Allen, who launched her clothing line at New Look a week after Moss launched her Topshop range, also denied the pair were engaged in an ongoing feud - despite weeks of talking up their high street rivalry.

In an interviewed on This Morning, Allen explained: "I only have nice things to say about her because she jumped to my defence a couple of years ago at Glastonbury Festival.

Lily Allen told This Morning that Kate Moss saved her from bullies

"These girls were beating me up and she was the only person who stood in and said 'leave her alone you're being bullies'.

"They stabbed me in the ear with a beer can and cut my ear open, I also had two black eyes - it was a bit of a nightmare!"

When asked what provocked the attack, she said: "It was just girls being girls. I think one of them thought that I was sleeping with her boyfriend, which I wasn't.

Lily Allen says she only has praise for Kate Moss, right, who is in New York for the American launch of her range

She added: "I was only young and the girls that were bullying me were a lot older.

"Kate Moss told them to stop being mean so I've got nothing bad to say about her - she's only been lovely to me."

And the LDN singer also said that her dad - famed actor and presenter Keith Allen - turned up to the wrong shop when she launched her new clothing line in London.

Lily said: "He went to the New Look that got burnt down, and when he got there he thought it was a publicity stunt.

"He thought it looked amazing because they'd burnt it all out!

"So I had to phone him and tell him he was at the wrong place" she giggled.

The reception to the launch of Allen's New Look range was less than impressive with les than ten shoppers making the effort to attended the opening.

It paled in comparison to Moss' debut, which attracted thousands of keen customers.
