Katie Holmes really is a Posh copycat

Leaving a restaurant in Beverly Hills with husband Tom Cruise the young actress and new mother showed off a sleek bobbed hairstyle which seems to have been inspired by Mrs Beckham's latest peroxide cut, christened the Pob - or Posh Bob.

The youthful Mrs Cruise, 28, has been criticised recently for dressing like a Hollywood wife several decades older since her marriage to the 44 year-old veteran actor and the birth of daughter Suri in April last year.

However, her latest fashion foray in a flattering sheer leopard print frock and sky scraper black heels seems to be another example of the Posh effect along with a sexier modern haircut.

The former Spice Girl also favours animal print ensembles - last month she wore a skin tight zebra print mini dress with a visible hot pink bra at the MTV Awards in Los Angeles which she told reporters she picked up in a vintage shop in New York.

The mother of three certainly has no qualms about showing off her tiny frame after vaunting her figure in minuscule hotpants and corset top designed by Karl Lagerfeld (corr) at the Glamour Awards in London this month.

The self-styled fashionista has bought an £11 million Italianate home for the Beckham family in the same Beverly Hills district as the Cruises and the two wives have become firm friends.

Mrs Beckham also exerted her fashion influence over her friend when they took a trip to Paris together and were pictured in matching monochrome outfits during the city's Fashion Week.

However, fashion critics lampooned the fussy nude Armani Privl gown that the American star wore to the Oscars and suggested that her over-styled appearance was the result of paying undue attention to the groomed Mrs Beckham.

While the younger woman has turned to Posh for sartorial advice David Beckham's wife has been eager use the relationship to make her way in LA.

Although she already has a clothing range the ambitious former Essex-girl has reportedly taken acting lessons and asked that Katie Holmes find her a cameo in her new film Mad Money.

A new reality TV show following Victoria and David Beckham's move to LA following his signing to football team LA Galaxy has reportedly caused some friction between the two couples as Tom Cruise is not keen for his young wife to appear on the series.
