Katie Price guilty of driving charge

The former glamour model was ordered by Mid Sussex magistrates to pay a £1,000 fine, £15 surcharge and £650 costs after her pink horsebox veered into another lane because she had taken her eyes off the road to send a text message.
She also had three penalty points added to her license after she was convicted of not being in proper control of a vehicle.
The brunette beauty had denied the offence, insisting there was no reason to use her phone as the vehicle was equipped with hands-free Bluetooth equipment, but police had said they seen her on the phone for up to three seconds.
Giving evidence, Katie had earlier said she "didn't remember" veering off the road.
When she was asked why she slipped into another lane - causing two other vehicles to take swift action to prevent a collision - she told the court: "Because I'm a typical woman driver.
"I'm just not used to a lorry that big. I was probably a bit scared because it was on a motorway.
"I don't remember veering but it is quite difficult."
The case had to be adjourned earlier yesterday after Katie's lawyer Nick Freeman argued the proceedings were "defective", stating his client was not informed of the correct charges against her.
Freeman claimed Katie was told at the time she was being reported for using a mobile phone while driving and driving without due care and attention with no mention of charges of not being in proper control of a vehicle.
