Kelly Rowland wows the crowd with an eye-popping show

For years, she's been overshadowed by her former Destiny's Child bandmate Beyoncé Knowles, but Kelly Rowland has finally emerged as a bootylicious star in her own right.

The 26-year-old singer shed her usually demure persona as she stepped on stage in a skimpy corset and fishnet stockings for a performance at London Astoria's G-A-Y night on Saturday.

She was in town to promote her new single Work ahead of the release of her new album Miss Kelly in March.

She has said: "The UK feels like my second home. I love clubbing here – there are so many cool producers and DJs.

"The way they spin, the way they mix things up – it's so exciting."

The star is also eyeing off a collaboration with Scotland's big DJs: "I'm keen to find out more about Calvin Harris and Mylo. I've heard very good things about them."

"I'd be totally up for seeing what they could do with my music."

As her solo career looks set to take off, Kelly says she still thinks fondly of her time with Destiny's Child.

She says: "I'm so proud of everything we did.

"In Destiny's Child, we showed that we could carry ourselves as powerful women, and that there was more to us than just our bodies.

"Some people thought a song like Bootylicious was about being sexy but it was more about having confidence in your own skin."
