Kirsty Gallacher expecting second child

Television presenter Kirsty Gallacher is expecting her second child, she said today.

Second time lucky: Kirsty Gallacher is pregnant

The Scot said she felt very fortunate as "some people have to struggle to have a baby."

She told Hello! magazine: "I can't believe how quickly it happened...You're always reading about how you have to try at the right time, but (we) were very relaxed and didn't put pressure on ourselves."

Gallacher recently announced her engagement to the baby's father, former rugby union international Paul Sampson.

The couple plan to tie the knot next summer after Sampson proposed at the end of a day in the country.

Gallacher said: "As we stood on a little wooden jetty, gazing out at what looked like a scene from The Wind in the Willows, he suddenly got down on one knee and said, 'We've had a very special day and I want to make it even more special. Will you marry me?"'

The proposal was "so romantic," she added.

The wedding plans have not yet been finalised, but Gallacher said she was more interested in having a fun time with close family and friends than in having a big white wedding.

The couple already have a two-year-old son called Oscar. They have decided to wait until the new baby is born to find out the sex, Gallacher said.
But she added: "I'd love to have a little girl."
