Lily Allen takes on a therapist to get motivated

She has never been known as a shy type, so it came as a surprise to hear Lily Allen has admitted she is turning to a therapist to get her through a crisis of confidence. The singer says her moods are up and down and that she has arranged a session with a motivational expert to help her achieve a "positive mental attitude".

Positive mental attitude: Lily Allen is working through her troubles

Lil, 23, has had her fair share of bad luck in the past, from her self-confessed troubled childhood to her tragic miscarriage last year.

But with the launch of her new album, she seemed to have put most of it behind her.

She said: "I've got a session next week with a guy that's going to give me positive mental attitude. Yes, we're doing an hour's session."

Lily also claims she is suspicious of confident people, adding: "They are the people that are usually rubbish." She has had much-publicised man troubles, most recently a fling with 46-yearold art dealer Jay Jopling. But she reckons she's ready to knock it on the head and stay single this year. Speaking to Absolute radio DJ Geoff Lloyd in an interview that airs tomorrow, she said: "There's no one who can tempt me."

She later admitted that is not quite true, as there is one man who may be able to tempt her - London major Boris Johnson. She said: "I quite fancy Boris Johnson, even though he's a Tory. He's very funny and charming."

Lily tears into her ex-boyfriends in her upcoming album It's Not Me It's You, although there's no mention of names. In one track, Knock Back, she sings: "You're really mean, you're supposed to care, that you never made me scream ... When we got to bed it was no good."

We're sure she'd have none of those problems with Boris.
