Lindsay back in rehab for a third time at £15,000-a-month clinic

Lindsay Lohan: undergoing treatment at a mountain-side clinic in Utah
Lindsay Lohan is undergoing a £15,000-a-month treatment plan at a mountain-side clinic that claims to be America's most 'exclusive' - and hardcore - drug rehab centre.

The 21-year-old Hollywood wild child has checked into Cirque Lodge, overlooking Robert Redford's Sundance ski resort in Orem, Utah, one of her relatives told The Mail on Sunday.

The starlet, who is facing charges of cocaine possession, driving under the influence and driving with a suspended licence, has boasted that she cannot get into trouble because she is famous.

But at her third and latest rehab, she has is attending daily 12-step programmes, cleaning bathrooms, washing dishes and doing laundry.

She even is sharing a room with two other patients.

"Of course, I am pleased she is seeking help," the relative said.

"But I don't think this is any more what Lindsay needs than the last two places she chose. They were more like resorts than rehabs and I am afraid from what I have read about Cirque Lodge it is really more of the same. Residents are offered sports like hiking and riding.

"I would prefer Lindsay to be in constant, constant therapy, rather than doing chores that are not relevant to her addiction problems."

The posh lodge, where extras can run over £400 a day, certainly looks more like a spa than a hospital.

Upon arrival, residents get a haircut, manicure and pedicure. There are fireplaces and jacuzzi bathtubs in each bedroom, saunas, a gym and a handcrafted staircase leading to the Cirque Room, where Lindsay can relax and enjoy a stunning panorama of the mountains.

Her day sometimes ends watching movies on a large screen television in the plush media room.

Chefs prepare her meals from a menu which includes steak and salmon.

The clinic was founded by Richard Losee, whose family at the time ran a jewellery store and a hair-styling academy. The family wanted to help a relative who was battling drug addiction, Losee said.

Former patients reportedly include Baywatch star David Hasselhoff and Mary-Kaye Olsen.

"Quite frankly we've had some of the biggest stars in Hollywood," a Cirque executive said. On a promotional video for the lodge, one resident says the setting is something he has seen only in movies.

Losee defends the ambiance and recreational programme. The breakthrough that leads to recovery often happens during a hike, working with a horse or while luxuriating in bed, he contends.

"I don't care where it happens, I just want it to happen. We don't fix anybody. All we do is provide tools and opportunities they need to stay sober.

"I'm more passionate about this business than anything else I've been involved in."

Lohan's representative confirmed that the actress is receiving 'medical treatment'.

She is scheduled to appear in court on August 24.
