Magic gone for Harry Potter star Radcliffe as he ends relationship with actress girlfriend

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is single again after his relationship with actress girlfriend Laura O'Toole came to an end.

The 18-year-old actor started dating Laura after meeting during the West End stage play Equus.

Both appeared in the steamy play and had to strip in raunchy sex scenes.

Sad: Daniel Radcliffe, who reportedly split from his girlfriend, cut a sombre figure in London on Saturday

But it is understood the couple have agreed to end their romance and are now just good friends.

The news comes just days before the play Equus goes on a four-month UK tour.

Laura said in a recent interview: "Daniel and I are still good friends and have a good time when we see each other.

"We just have to be realistic."

Happier times: The Harry Potter star with ex-girlfriend Laura O'Toole in London last November. Ironically, Radcliffe wore the same back then as he did at the weekend

Dublin-born Laura, 22, understudied the role of his girlfriend, Jill, in Equus, a character who appeared in a lengthy nude sex scene with multi-millionaire Radcliffe.

As Joanna Christie played the female lead, Miss O'Toole was called upon only once to strip off on stage with Radcliffe, who was then 17.

The play ended in May last year but the pair were still secretly seeing each other, pictured walking in Fulham, West London, near Radcliffe's home, in November.

Radcliffe is thought to have been given access to an estimated £20 million on his 18th birthday last July.

At the time he was swamped by screaming female teenage fans at his Harry Potter premiere and generated even more hysteria when he admitted he was anxious to meet a girlfriend.

But it seems Daniel - who once dubbed actresses as "completely barking" - had his heart stolen by Miss O'Toole.

She made her name six years ago in the Irish TV series On Home Ground on channel RTE.

Producers of Equus were so impressed by her performance in the play, she will now be the female lead opposite Lily Allen's brother, Alfie, when the tour starts in Chichester on Thursday.

Radcliffe is set to open the play in New York towards the end of year.

He is also expected to get £25 million for starring in the final two Harry Potter movies.

Laura O'Toole's agent said: "I have no idea if they are still together. Her private life is her private life and I regard it as just that, private."
