The manager of singer Paolo Nutini has dismissed claims the star was drunk when he performed after celebrating a football win
According to the Daily Record, the performance led some concert-goers to walk out just three songs into the set.
It took place just a few hours after the Paisley-born star's team wrapped up their second Scottish Premier League title in a row by beating Kilmarnock.
But Nutini's manager, Brendan Moon, said his client was just mumbling as he sang, and that the set was subject to several technical problems that made him difficult to hear.
He said last night: "Him being drunk is absolute nonsense.
"Anybody who has seen Paolo before knows it's just the way he speaks.
"He has never claimed to be an orator and he is not a brilliant public speaker, but he doesn't pretend to be."
Mr Moon said Nutini, whose debut album These Streets is now multi-platinum, had enjoyed "a couple" of beers as he listened to Sunday's match.
Celtic won the game 2-1 after a last-minute free kick.
Mr Moon added: "Paolo probably had a couple of beers.
"There were also a few technical problems during the gig, but at the end everybody went mad - they loved him."
Just under 4,000 people watched the concert at the Oasis Centre in Swindon, Wiltshire.
Concert-goer Sandra Coombes, from Swindon, blasted Nutini's performance, telling the Daily Record: "It was a disgrace. The only reason Paolo had a microphone was to help him stand up."
