Mat Horne gives his taxi driver a £1,500 tip

Losing your wallet is bad enough, but losing it when it is stuffed with £1,500 in cash is just about as gutting as it gets. That's what happened to Mat Horne last night when he left his wallet in the back of a cab during a night out.

Horne of plenty: Mat Horne managed to lose £1,500

The funnyman was left so devastated that he couldn't even manage a smile for the cameras, saying: "Sorry, not this time lads. I've really made a fool of myself tonight." Mat's evening started so well, performing with his comedy partner James Corden at the Teenage Cancer Trust gig at the Royal Albert Hall.

But when the gang made their way to Whisky Mist for the afterparty, Mat realised he was one-anda-half grand lighter.

Our source said: "As soon as he noticed his wallet was missing, he rushed over to the cloakroom at the back of the club and was frantically searching through his coat pockets. When he couldn't find it there, he then ran over to the bar and was looking on the floor to see if he had dropped it. He was pretty frantic. He then realised he must have left it in the back of his black cab, but couldn't remember any details about the taxi.

"He was telling pals that he hoped there was someone honest enough to hand it in, but wasn't hopeful. His mates had to lend him some cash to get home at the end of the evening."
