Meanwhile Brown, who is in the grip of a bitter battle with Eddie Murphy, was spotted carrying her three-month-old daughter Angel Iris in a brightly coloured sling during a visit to a hospital clinic in Los Angeles.

She was reportedly taking her daughter to get a DNA test, and Murphy, who skipped the premiere of his latest movie Shrek The Third in London, also checked in to give a blood sample to finally determine paternity.

Brown has maintained that the Hollywood star is the father of her child, a claim the comedian very publicly denied.

On the career front, talk of a Spice Girls reunion remains persistent.

One source told US magazine People that the girls are planning a tour and album release after finally convincing Melanie Chisholm to come back on board.

According to sources, Geri has been working on new Spice Girls material with Emma Bunton

The insider said: "It should be happening in December. Geri and Emma [Bunton] have been in the studio writing new material and they want to do a worldwide tour."

A studio source added: "They have a couple of new songs and one in particular is fantastic. It's hard to get something as pop-laden as their first hit, 'Wannabe,' but one of the new songs is heading that way and it has far more funk in it than the ballads before the band split."
