Mel C: 'I won’t reunite with Spice Girls'

Melanie C is against a Spice GIrls reunion

Melanie C has put a spanner in the works for plans for a Spice Girls reunion.

The 33-year-old has insisted that she has no plans to reunite with the girls and is concentrating on her solo career.

The girls have been spotted together a number of times in the last few months, fuelling speculation that a reunion may be on the cards but in an interview with OK magazine Melanie insists that if it does go ahead, it may be without her:

"I don't want to be the spoilsport, no pun intended, but if the other four do it then I think I'll be in a dilemma.

"I don't want to be the person that stops it from being the complete set, but in my heart of hearts it's not something I want to do."

Melanie C was the only Spice Girl who didn't attend David Beckham's birthday bash where the girls reportedly made plans for a reunion assault.

While Victoria Beckham, Mel B, Emma and Geri Halliwell's solo-careers have stalled in recent years Melanie C has just released her fourth album, her last single I Want Candy was featured on the soundtrack of the film of the same name.

Spice Girls founder Simon Fuller recently criticised Melanie for her reluctance to reform with her former bandmates.

"All of the girls are up for it and the reunion will definitely happen in the next 18 months

"The only person showing any reluctance is Mel C. She thinks her solo career is bigger than the band, which is just not the case.

"She needs to wise up and realise a reunion would be amazing for everybody concerned. Emma and Geri are meeting her soon to discuss everything and convince her to finally sign a deal."

The Spice Girls were one of the most successful girl bands ever, selling over 53 million albums.
