Mighty Madonna: No rest for the queen of eye-popping muscles

Few can rival Madonna's strength in the pop charts, and by the looks of her bulging muscles, she'd be a formidable opponent in an arm wrestle too.

The 49-year-old showed no sign of easing up her punishing fitness regime, hitting the gym again today with her personal trainer in tow.

She emerged from her personal fitness centre, which is just 20 yards from her London home, dripping in sweat  but still managing a smile.

The mother of three is gearing up for a gruelling string of concerts of Europe and North America beginning this August.

She will kick off her Sticky and Sweet Tour just a week after she rings in her 50th birthday.

It will take her to nine European cities, beginning in Cardiff, Wales, before she plays 18 dates in the United States and Canada.

Her recent album, Hard Candy, has debuted at number one at 27 countries so far including the US, UK, France, Germany, Japan and Australia, according to her record company.
