Self-described 'miracle man' Patrick Swayze looked a picture of health as he returned to work for the first time since he was diagnosed with cancer.
The 'Dirty Dancing' star smiled as he appeared on set at the start of filming on began his new project, a television show, 'The Beast' in Chicago, in which he plays an FBI agent.
Swayze smiled in the sunshine and showed little evidence of the pancreatic cancer diagnosis which saw the actor initially given just weeks to live.

His illness was diagnosed in January. Since then the actor is thought to have undergone radical chemotherapy.
The 55-year-old recently branded himself 'a miracle', for surviving the past five months after doctors diagnosed him with the disease.
The Hollywood star was joined on the set of the A&E drama by his wife Lisa Niemi.

Swayze was reportedly diagnosed with cancer in late January and has been undergoing chemotherapy and treatment at California's Stanford University Medical Center.
The star's doctors publicly confirmed the diagnosis in March.
In The Beast, Swayze will play an unorthodox FBI agent being pursued by a secret Internal Affairs team. The series is expected to air in the U.S. next year.
