Match made in movie heaven: Film producer Harvey Weinstein has married his British designer girlfriend Georgina Chapman in a ceremony on his estate in Westport, Connecticut, on the weekend

According to People magazine, the pair exchanged vows in an intimate winter ceremony under the stars, and topped it off with a grand fireworks display.

"Harvey looked the happiest he's ever looked," said a source. "Georgina was absolutely glowing."

Guests such as Lopez and Zellweger watched from huge tents decorated with crystal chandeliers and fir trees as fireworks exploded off a barge in nearby Long Island Sound.

The crowd broke into cheers after the 10-minute spectacle, which was followed by music from a live band and the party continued until 1am.

"The wedding was the most elegant, loving affair I've ever seen", one guest told People Magazine.

"It was like a fairy tale wedding in a big tent with chandeliers and mirrors and pink flowers," said another source.

Restaurants Nobu and Cipriani catered the event in which guests dined on caviar, truffle risotto and osso bucco.

The guest-list for the glamorous wedding read like a who's who from the worlds of media to finance.

It included media mogul Rupert Murdoch, Revlon head Ron Perelman, Quentin Tarantino, Vogue's Anna Wintour, Vanity Fair's Graydon Carter, models Karolina Kurkova and Helena Christensen, who began arriving at Weinstein's estate at around 5pm.

Weinstein and Miss Chapman started dating in 2005. At the wedding, the bride "wore a glamorous dress that she designed herself," said a source.

British native Miss Chapman graduated from the Wimbledon School of Art in 2001 and started off designing costumes for theatre and film.

A year after landing in Hollywood, and after she begun dating Harvey, Marchesa's sparkly evening dresses were seen on A-listers Renée Zellweger, Cate Blanchett, Scarlett Johansson, and Penélope Cruz.

Weinstein and his brother, Bob, co-founded Miramax Films in 1979, and the company has since produced dozens of award-winning films including Pulp Fiction, Good Will Hunting, Shakespeare in Love and The Aviator.

Weinstein and Miss Chapman asked their guests to make charitable contributions in lieu of gifts.
