Mr and Mrs Capello show their form on the beach in Sicily

With his home nation of Italy out of Euro 2008 and the England team he manages not even making it to the tournament, it's no wonder Fabio Capello's thoughts seem far away from football as he enjoys a romantic holiday with his wife, Laura.

The couple soaked up the sun in Sicily, a favourite holiday destination for the couple, who have been married for more than 40 years and have two children.

The 62-year-old football boss was more interested in fish-spotting then football talent spotting as he dived into the sea for a spot of snorkelling.

In swimming shorts and sun glasses, the former Roma and Italy winger showed he is still in shape despite his football playing days been long over.

The manager has been learning English after being appointed England boss last year.

No doubt Capello is enjoying the time to relax before the pressure will be on him to lead England to the 2010 World Cup when qualification matches begin in September.

After missing the European Championships, not only does Capello have England's hope and pride resting on his shoulders, World Cup officials this week warned him the country's bid to host the 2018 World Cup will also be dependent on their forthcoming perfomances.

Dr Danny Jordaan, chief executive officer for the 2010 organising committee said: 'England must keep a high profile given the fact they are making a bid for the 2018 World Cup, so they cannot miss 2010.

'They have to remain on the top of the minds of the global football discussions, so 2010 is important for England not just for the fans but also their campaign. They must work hard to qualify.'
