My fur lady? Kate Moss steps out in another animal print jacket

Kate Moss' black and white shaggy fur number made her resemble a diminutive yeti - and last night she stepped out in another animal-style number but despite its unfashionable connotations just why does Kate Moss love FUR so much?

Kate's shaggy-fur look stole the show at the Led Zeppelin reunion concert on Monday night. And although the black and white coat on this occasion appeared to be a fake, it appears she has more than a passing interest in real fur.

My fur lady: Kate Moss shows off another fur jacket which begs the question, just why does she love FUR so much?

Former Burberry model Kate has in the past incurred the wrath of animal rights protesters furious over the fact that she models and wears real fur.

Despite her fellow models insistence they'd rather go naked than wear it, Kate continues to flaunt her love of fur.

And her stubborn refusal to forsake the real stuff has seen her come under fire from campaigners.

Peta campaigner Anita Singh said recently: "People like her have a responsibility to set a good example and not promote what is a violent industry."

Miss Singh added: "Anyone who has a heart would not want anything to do with a company that promotes fur products."

However the criticism has had little effect on Moss' wardrobe, and she has been seen in a variety of real fur jackets over the years.

Real models wear fur: Kate's love affair with fur has seen her come under fire from anti-fur campaigners including Peta

Kate's championing of real fur coincides with a 30 per cent rise in sales in the UK, in a market now worth an estimated £500m in the UK.

And in another irony, the millionaire model designs a successful clothing range for Topshop which has an anti-fur policy.

Louise Stevenson, from Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade, blasted: "It is hypocritical and it shows that she does not have any ethics but is willing to take money for whatever she can get."

Supermodels Elle McPherson and Cindy Crawford both once professed to preferring to go naked than wear fur, but have both done fur advertising campaigns in the past three years.

Actress Eva Mendes is the latest celebrity to star in the long-running campaign.

Meanwhile, Kate's ex-lover Pete Doherty has reportedly been offered £50,000 to reveal all the details of his romance with Kate Moss.

The Babyshambles frontman, 29 – who split from the fashionista this summer - is said to be negotiating the deal with ITV2 and is even considering letting them broadcast private videos.

A source said; "He wants to talk about his life with her and will be a no-holds-barred chat.

A friend of Kate's said "She'll be furious and feel massively betrayed. There could be a big legal battle over it."

The show – due to be filmed in January – has been given the working title The Kate and Pete Love Story.
