The former Hear'Say singer, who gave birth to Ava 11 weeks ago – six weeks prematurely – has given up her role as co-host of BBC1's nightly The One Show. Myleene, 29, said: 'I took a good look at how I was going to fit everything in. I already had a very busy work schedule.

Myleene is enjoying the challenges of motherhood. 'I have a freezer-load of breast milk because I like to be prepared,' she said.
'Ava is the most precious thing in my life. I'm loving every minute of it. Even the 2am feed. But, like most women, I have to earn a living. One of the things I've had to do is accept that I can't do everything.
'Women can't just go back to work and continue as they did before. I decided to drop The One Show. It took a lot of soul-searching, but the schedule just didn't fit in with my routine. I love my work, but Ava comes first.'

New mother Myleene with her baby Ava
Although still busy on radio and TV (she will be a guest presenter on Children In Need on November 16), modelling for M&S and recording music, these days her main concerns are how much gear to pack when she takes Ava to work – and whether she has enough breast milk in the fridge. 'I have a freezer-load of breast milk because I like to be prepared,' she said.
Her fiance Graham Quinn or her mother look after Ava when Myleene has to go somewhere without her. 'But that doesn't happen that often. I take her everywhere, including the radio studio. It's great that I can breast-feed her while still on air.'
And she has a new role, as an honorary ambassador for London. In two weeks she will accompany Mayor Ken Livingstone to India to host an evening in Mumbai aimed at strengthening ties with the country.
The classically trained pianist, who now has a deal with EMI and whose last album reached No1 in the classical charts, will also perform in a concert to showcase London's cultural and artistic life. 'I'm enormously proud,' she said.
