Nancy: I'd stand by Sven, even if he cheated again

Nancy Dell'Olio has vowed to stand by Sven Goran Eriksson - even if he has another affair.

Her comments follow reports that the former England football boss, 51, was unfaithful with a Dell'Olio lookalike for eight years.

Eriksson and his Italian lover split last year - and the Swede was photographed with a string of young women - but the couple are now back on.

Eriksson has enjoyed affairs with fellow Swede Ulrika Jonsson and FA personal assistant Faria Alam.

Asked what she would do if Eriksson was unfaithful in future, Dell'Olio, 43, told the Press Association: "It's something that belongs in the past but then anything can happen in life, you never know.

"But if you've been working through things together then hopefully it won't happen again, to either of us.

"But if Sven did have an another affair it's something that we would work through and move on, like we did before."

Nancy Dell'Olio has plans to marry Sven Goran Eriksson despite his cheating past

The Italian lawyer said her plans for marriage were on track.

She said: "Maybe we are getting married, it's something that we are talking about again. I have been asking again so we are having conversations about it."

Dell'Olio, who is releasing her autobiography, My Beautiful Game, said the couple had considered adopting a child.

She said: "Not immediately but it's always been something that has been on my mind, and something we have given a lot of consideration to over the years.

"I think it takes a lot of courage and that it is a fantastic thing to do.

"It so sad to see how many kids are without parents - it's certainly not something that we have ruled out."

Dell'Olio also told the New Paul O'Grady Show on Channel 4 she was flattered that impressionist Ronni Ancona impersonated her - because it meant she was famous.

She said: "Of course I have seen myself. I couldn't believe it.

"It's very, very funny. You have to be very famous for someone to spend time impersonating you. It's a compliment."

Monica Casti, 41, revealed in the News of the World that she was furious after learning of the football coach and his Italian girlfriend's plans to marry and have children.

She told the paper: "I've been Sven's mistress continuously for eight years. I love him and I know he loves me."
