The ageing rockers are headlining the Isle of Wight festival, bringing back memories for fans who saw the band at the holiday resort's town hall in 1964.
The band's spokesman said the Isle of Wight gig was the Stones' first UK festival - but the band did perform at Knebworth in 1976. A Bigger Bang plays more than 20 shows across Europe after kicking off in June in Belgium.
Frontman Jagger, 63, made the announcement today in a press call from London transmitted over the internet.
Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts will play two UK dates - at the Isle of Wight on Sunday June 10 and the 02 Arena, formerly the Millennium Dome, on August 21.
A concert in Dublin has been scheduled for August 18, while other gig locations include St Petersburg and shows in Serbia and the Ukraine for the first time.
Jagger, who works out and performs breathing exercises before taking to the stage, said: "I never get tired."
"I have a very definite countdown before the show where I have time to relax, get dressed, warm up."
He joked of Richards, also 63, who fell out of tree while on holiday in Fiji: "I'll nail him to the nearest room. I don't think he will be climbing any palm trees."
He said: "I was just speaking to Ronnie on the telephone, he's really looking forward to it. Keith is really up for it and Charlie is really looking forward to it. We'll be there.
"We're very happy to do this tour in Europe. It's going to be a lot of fun."
He said of the Isle of Wight festival: "It's going to be a really good three day event."
He had praise for jazz singer Amy Winehouse, who is also performing at the event.
Asked what he had learnt from his decades in the music business, he said: "Be careful what you sign and write a few songs that people remember."
