Newlywed Peaches Geldof takes a bite out of the Big Apple after landing a place at New York University

Peaches Geldof has her father Bob's blessing to start her new life in America  -  and has already landed a place at New York University and a job at a pop culture magazine.

The 19-year-old socialite actually looks like she might be ready to settle into some kind of normality after her quickie wedding to U.S. rocker Max Drummey earlier this month.

One of the driving forces behind Peaches' shock wedding was her desire to quit the UK for a life in America.

A source said: 'She is doing everything she can to move away from how she is perceived in London.

'The truth is that Max offered her a way out of it all. She was offered stability and a move away from the negative press she was receiving in the UK.

'Now, Peaches is planning a move to New York and is starting over with a place at NYU and a new job at Nylon magazine.'

Earlier this month, Peaches caused a sensation when she married unknown indie musician Max, 23, in a Las Vegas chapel following a four-week whirlwind romance.

But now, opting for a calmer existence with her new beau, Peaches is to study English at the New York University and is to join the team at the American magazine, which focuses on pop culture, fashion and celebrity.

Our source added: "She wasn't too sure about New York at first but her father persuaded her and so she signed up at the university and was offered a job.

'She now has her father's blessing with Max, which is a weight off her mind. Bob wants her to have structure and a routine.

'We hope her new life across the pond works out.'

After a brief sojourn home to London and then onto to Majorca following her wedding on August 5th, Peaches flew back to the U.S. with her new spouse on Sunday.

It looked like Peaches had already begun the moving process after dutiful husband Max was spotted wheeling her numerous bags through New York's JFK Airport.
