No show for Joe but Adam Buxton returns to airwaves

BBC presenter Adam Buxton has landed his own new show after disappearing from a regular slot on an indefinite "sabbatical".
With co-host and old friend Joe Cornish, the duo hosted one of the most popular shows on threatened station BBC 6 Music, and it has become one of the corporation's most listened-to podcasts.
Now Buxton has revealed he is to present a two-hour weekly show until Cornish returns from working on his movie-directing debut.
Cornish has also scripted Steven Spielberg's forthcoming Tintin movie.
Last week Buxton was seen challenging BBC director general Mark Thompson to a fight on Channel 4 News.
Adam and Joe presented their last show in December and have been on a break since, although their Saturday morning slot is being kept open with stand-ins.
Buxton announced the new show Adam Buxton's Big Mix Tape in his BBC blog.
The shows will feature a different theme for the music each week and will discuss the song choices with a studio guest.
Digital service 6 Music - which celebrates its eighth birthday today - faces the axe under the BBC's strategic review, and the proposal has prompted a storm of criticism from the station's fans and listeners.
Today, Buxton said of his TV challenge to Thompson over the plans: "All the stirring and important stuff I'd been planning went out of the window as soon as I heard the man in my earpiece telling me we were live in five seconds. After that it was just a question of not weeping or swearing."
He said the Adam & Joe Show would return to the station later this year.
