No socks appeal: David Beckham's fashion faux pas

The football ace surprised onlookers when he sat down for an interview at a press conference and revealed that despite his carefully preened outfit, he was in fact wearing no socks - a look not popular since Don Johnson hit screens on Miami Vice in 1984.
It's not clear if the decision to roam around with bare ankles was intentional, or merely a hasty oversight.

His wife Victoria was preparing for the Spice Girls reunion tour and could not travel to Sydney, but David promised to bring the complete Beckham brood back next time.
"It's been incredible. I have to say thank you," Beckham told the crowd. "I'll definitely be back with the family and kids - without a doubt."
David scored with a trademark free kick just on half time to delight the almost capacity crowd on Tuesday night in the Galaxy's 5-3 loss to Sydney FC.
He will leave Thursday with the team for New Zealand and Saturday's match against Wellington Phoenix.
The tour went ahead on the proviso that Beckham play for at least 55 minutes in each of the friendlies against the A-League teams.
He played a full 90 minutes against Sydney FC, despite hurting his ankle in a clumsy challenge in the 27th minute.
And so the midfielder proved to be the drawcard that organizers had hoped for.
"Sydney win ... but Becks steals the show," Sydney's Daily Telegraph reported Wednesday above its back page headline: "In his own Galaxy".
The Sydney Morning Herald said Beckham played perfectly to script.
"Consummate pro not one to fluff his lines," the broadsheet reported of Beckham's goal and general performance.
"You can see why fans love him and sponsors adore him. He hates to disappoint."
