Man about town Jude Law was spotted whisking a mystery brunette off for dinner last night in Primrose Hill.
The star was apparently keen to impress his date, taking her to ritzy French restaurant L'Absinthe for their evening out.
But it seems his efforts fell flat, with onlookers saying the actor was turned away because he didn't have a reservation.

The attractive companion is the latest to be linked to the Alfie actor, who is known as much for the notches on his bedpost as he is for his film work.
Just last month Jude was spotted passionate kissing Kimberley Stewart in the VIP area of an Essex nightclub.
While it appears the 35-year-old has moved on, Rod Stewart's daughter is said to be still pining over him.
A source told The Mirror: 'She loved his company and they really seemed to hit it off when they got together last month.
'They had a great time and she got the impression he enjoyed himself as well so she gave him a buzz to see if he was up for meeting again.'
Jude was slammed as a love rat after he was caught cheating on fiancee Sienna Miller with his children's nanny Daisy Wright.
He apologised to Miss Miller after the affair was made public and the pair attempted a reconciliation but finally split in 2006.
While the Closer actor has since been single, he has dated a string of women including Harper's Bazaar editor-at-large Kim Hersov.
He was married to fashion designer Sadie Frost for six years before divorcing in 2003, and the pair have three children Rafferty 11, sister Iris, 7, and brother Rudy, 5.
