Doctor, doctor: Victoria Beckham tried her hand at medical chic with an oversized white coat in New York yesterday

Victoria, never one to do things by halves, teamed her coat with a stark white Birkin handbag and matching heels.

She gave the Bryant Park catwalk shows a miss, instead spending the day at a magazine photo shoot before squeezing in a spot of shopping at Tom Ford.

The 34-year-old, who debuted her new pixie cut earlier this week, is in the throes of a promotional blitz for her new fashion line, which has so far received rave reviews.

All white: Posh topped off her look with a Birkin bag and matching stark heels, perhaps a tribute to her husband David's England team

She says: 'I am really excited about it - I've done what I truly love: A collection that is stylish, chic and timeless.

'I am confident - in a very humble way. I made everything on myself. I suppose I am my own muse.'

She has also hinted that there is much more to come, telling reporters: 'I would love to do bags but I want to make sure that everything I do is the best quality.

'I have spent a lifetime wanting to do this. It's what I always dreamed of since I customised my school uniform when I was 7 years old. And it is the most fun I have ever had.'
