Peaches takes on Kate and Topshop

A new war could be breaking out on the high street — but for once it's nothing to do with the credit crunch. Peaches Geldof has been given her own high street fashion range to rival that of Kate Moss at Topshop.

And her new bosses, glam label PPQ, have already stoked things up by saying her new range "won't be as cheap" as Kate's.

Bob Geldof's daughter, 19, designed some high-end pieces for PPQ, which were launched last month, and the big-wigs were so impressed they want to expand her input.

The label's items start at several hundred pounds, but they now want Peaches to help them with a high street range at more affordable prices. Label owner Percy Parker told us: "We had a meeting to discuss expanding the range. We're going to make it a lot more accessible, in different shops around the country and on the Internet. It's going to be much more accessible, but not as cheap as Topshop." Meow!

Kate's range has been massively successful, and we're sure she won't be too riled by her latest young pretender.

Percy continued: "Peaches gets a lot of bad press but that's just because if she doesn't think someone is cool, she won't make the effort or give them any time."

An insider confirmed that the range is due out in March, but the details are yet to be finalised. As a DJ, band member, wife, model, columnist and presenter, let's hope Peaches has time to squeeze designing in as well.
