Emergency services were called to the home of Heather Locklear after fears she would try to kill herself. But the star, pictured with boyfriend Jack Wagner, was alive and well
"Ms. Locklear said she was fine and there appeared to be no problem," Ventura County Fire Department Captain Barry Parker said.
"Nobody in the house needed medical attention so we left after about 10 minutes."
The Fire Department and two paramedics' units arrived at her home at around 8pm on Saturday night but left ten minutes later.
Parker said the "suicide attempt" call did not originate from her house, and was from an unknown third party.
A source told celebrity news website TMZ.com the caller feared Heather, 46, was going to try and kill herself.
"We're satisfied this was a call from a concerned citizen, not a malicious call," Parker said.
But when police arrived at the gated community in Thousand Oaks - west of Los Angeles - Heather was completely responsive.
"We determined there was no one in danger and nothing criminal going on at the house so we left," Ventura County Sheriff's Captain Dave Kenny said.
A spokesman told TMZ: "I spoke with Heather and she is fine. She never requested medical assistance and did not place a 911 call.
"Nor did anyone from her house call 911 or place a call requesting medical assistance."
The actress is currently dating fellow former Melrose Place co-star Jack Wagner.
She split from ex-husband Richie Sambora in December 2005, and divorce papers were filed just two months later.
After their split Bon Jovi guitarist Sambora began dating Heather's close pal Denise Richards.
News of the relationship ended their friendship.
