Posh uses Guantanamo chic to stand out from the fashion show front row

Sitting in the front row at a New York fashion show today, Victoria Beckham looked more like a Guantanamo Bay prisoner than a fashionable pop star.

Draped in an eye-searing orange dress, observers couldn't help but notice the Spice Girl's latest confection resembled the jumpsuits worn by inmates at the notoriously brutal prison in Cuba.

Guantanamo chic: Posh hits the New York fashion scene

Fortunately for passers-by she stuck to her trademark hand-on-hip posturing as opposed to adopting any form of prison etiquette.

During the show, Posh had Heidi Klum for company.

The pair watched on as contestants from the supermodel's show Project Runway put their designs on display.

Her unusual outfit certainly helped her to stand out from the crowd of fellow fashionistas, who all opted for demure shades of blacks and greys.

As is expected during fashion week, observers dress down as the clothes on the catwalk are the stars of the show.

However, Posh being Posh, she made sure the limelight was firmly on her throughout the event.

This isn't the first fashion faux pas the star has made since arriving in New York.

Her knobbly knees and legs showing signs of cellulite were the talk of the town yesterday The Spice Girl arrived in the Big Apple earlier this week after performing with the Spice Girls in Toronto.

Along with a string of Spice Girls concerts, Victoria is hoping to attend Marc Jacobs' catwalk show while in the Big Apple. She is, after all, the new face of the popular fashion label.

Inspiration? Posh's outfit had an uncanny resemblance to that worn by Guantanamo Bay prisoners

Earlier this month, her group announced they were cutting their world tour short, blaming family commitments for the surprise decision.

Victoria said: "We have children who need to go back to school and we have always said our families are our priorities, so we want to thank all of our fans.

"Sorry we didn't get to see everybody. We had a great time."

Sources say the decision was in fact a result of a bitter rift that has formed between the group.

And the group did little to quell speculation about in-fighting earlier this week.

The five arrived separately at Toronto airport - despite all leaving Canada for New York.

The famous five were also thought to be staying in separate hotels when they got there.
