Pregnant Cate Blanchett turns heads in a bump-revealing dress and super high heels

She might be pregnant for the third time - but actress Cate Blanchett is clearly in no mood to swap her usual high fashion red carpet look for mumsy dungarees.

The 38-year-old Australian beauty, attended the premiere of surrealistic Bob Dylan film, I'm Not There, with husband Andrew Upton wearing a tight-fitting black dress which revealed her growing baby bump.

But it was the pair of super-high heels she accessorised her little black dress with that raised eyebrows.

Dizzy heights: Expectant mother-to-be Cate Blanchett , seen at a premiere yesterday, is not ready to give up her fashionable clothes - or high heels - just yet

Not-so-comfy footwear: Cate graced the red carpet at the premiere for her new film in these extremely high platform-soled stilettos

Third time lucky: Cate and husband Andrew Upton are expecting their third child together - they already have two sons

The five inch heels appeared to be more suited to the Manolo loving Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica-Parker) of Sex and the City, rather than a expectant mother.

But despite the height of her designer heels, Cate looked more than steady on her feet, as her paraded her neat bump.

The mother of two sons, Dashiell, five, and three-year-old Roman, revealed she was pregnant at the Sydney premiere of her new film, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, last month.

But she refused to confirm rumours she is having another boy.

Responding to the rumours that the new arrival will be a brother for Dashiell, five, and three-year-old Roman, she replied: "You know more than me. It's early days yet. It's due in April."

Blanchett, who won an Academy Award for her role in The Aviator, and who was nominated for Elizabeth and Notes on a Scandal, has made no secret of her desire to expand her family.

She told W magazine: "I'm not going to wait forever. God, I'd love it to be now. I'd love it to be next week.

Cate was fulfilling promotional duties for the Bob Dylan film, I'm Not There, which is released this month.

And in keeping with her pregnant status, she has begun winding up her commitments having finished work on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, with Harrison Ford, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, co-starring Brad Pitt, both out next year.

The only work she has in the pipeline is providing a voice for the animated film The Fantastic Mr Fox.
