Princess Beatrice swaps parties for ponies as she resumes gap-year travels

After partying with Kate Moss' Primrose Hill set, Princess Beatrice has escaped to Argentina for what might well be a much needed dose of rest and relaxation.

The 19-year-old was spotted in Buenos Aires yesterday where she spent a low key day watching the Palermo Polo Open with a small group of friends.

The young royal has resumed her gap-year travels after briefly returning to London from Brazil.

It proved to be a hectic whirlwind visit, which included her grandparents' diamond wedding celebrations and her cousin Peter Phillip's 30th birthday.

During her stay, her boyfriend David Clark, who works in marketing at Branson's space tourism project Virgin Galactic, also took her to former Hollyoaks actress Davinia Taylor's 30th birthday party in the Colour Rooms in edgy Shoreditch, East London.

It's a wrap: the Princess, dressed in a casual white dress and scarf, still stood out from the crowd

She found herself among an A-list of hard-partying creatures including Moss, Sienna Miller, Jade Jagger, Naomi Campbell, Kelly Osbourne and Meg Matthews, all part of the outrageous Primrose Hill mob.

It turned into a rather late night for the Princess, who was spotted heading home with Clark around 3am.

The royal, who is staying on the ranch that her mother inherited from her own mother Susan Barrantes, embarked on the expedition to "get completely away."

Jet setter: Princess Beatrice is in the midst of gap-year travels across South America

She is said to be travelling with childhood friend Nikolai von Bismarck, also 19 - great great grandson of Prince Otto von Bismarck, Prussia's Iron Chancellor - with whom she has already trekked the Inca trail through the Andes.

As part of her gap year, she is also planning a field trip with one of her mother's charities and hopes to spend some time in New York doing work experience in fashion and media.

After her travels, Beatrice intends to go to university - both Edinburgh and Goldsmiths college in South-East London, which specialises in the creative arts, are on her shortlist.
