Race row Jade dumped from Comic Relief

Jade Goody has been axed from Comic Relief over the Celebrity Big Brother race row.

Charity bosses had already filmed a Question of Sport spoof in which the disgraced reality TV star appeared alongside comics Jack Dee and Frank Skinner, a spoof off BBC1 quiz A Question of Sport.

But they have been forced to drop the sketch from BBC1's Red Nose Night telethon on March 16.

A Comic Relief source said: "Recent events have overtaken us and the show, which was recorded last November, now feels out of date.

"It didn't make sense that none of the panellists referred to Celebrity Big Brother and the race row. We had no choice but to scrap it. It looked odd and Jade didn't fit on Comic Relief."

"Red Nose Day is all about raising money and anything that could potentially detract from this is not helpful."

Mother-of-two Goody caused an international scandal with her behaviour towards fellow Big Brother housemate actress Shilpa Shetty.

She referred to the Bollywood star as "Shilpa Poppadom", called her Shilpa F***awalla and told her she needed to spend a day in the slums.

Thousands of viewers complained that she was a racist bully.

The fallout saw the 25-year-old admit herself to the Priory rehab clinic to be treated for stress and depression after leaving the Big Brother house.

Now just three weeks before Red Nose Day on March 16, frantic Comic Relief bosses are replacing the show with a Never Mind The Buzzcock's special.

According to The Mirror, the quiz show cost £80,000.
