Katie Hopkins, the power-dressing villain in the series, was originally selected to go through to the final before spectacularly quitting just moments later.

Hopkins also hit headlines after being caught in an embarrassing outdoor romp with a married man, who has since returned to his wife.

Grimes, a pharmaceutical sales manager Grimes from Harrogate who has described herself as a "ruthless single mother," replaced Hopkins as a finalist.

She is up against south Londoner Ambrose, a former investment banker who speaks six languages.

Before joining the show, he tried his hand at internet ventures after being made redundant.

The fate of their careers is now in the hands of tough talking Sir Alan.

Grimes has said: "To me, Sir Alan is an inspiration - where he started, what he has achieved and his directness."

The Apprentice airs Wednesday, June 13 on BBC1.
