Just days after being spotted cheek-to-cheek at a rock concert, Sir Paul McCartney and Renee Zellweger have enjoyed an intimate candlelit dinner.
The pair greeted each other with a tender hug at the exclusive American Hotel restaurant in Sag Harbour, New York.
Bridget Jones star Miss Zellweger - at 38, the same age as Sir Paul's eldest daughter Mary - arrived first and chose a table near the fireplace.
Sir Paul, 65, arrived a few minutes later.
The pair lingered over their meal for two hours, talking quietly throughout.
Before parting, they embraced again.

The American Hotel is at the heart of The Hamptons, a favourite summer retreat for celebrities, where the former Beatle has a mansion.
One diner said: "It's an extremely romantic place to meet for dinner. The dining rooms are very dimly lit, mostly with candlelight.
"Sir Paul and Renee left separately - but they looked like they were enjoying themselves."

Sir Paul was most recently romantically linked to the ex-wife of Billy Joel, model Christie Brinkley
It is a hectic time for Sir Paul, who has also recently been linked with the former supermodel Christie Brinkley.
The 53-year-old ex-wife of Billy Joel was seen slow-dancing with the Beatle at another concert a fortnight ago.
Sir Paul's estranged wife Heather Mills has reportedly been staying with him in the Hamptons in an attempt to make family life as normal as possible for their three-year-old daughter, Bea.
