Rugby star Danny Cipriani rejected from MTV show ... for not being hunky enough

Rugby star Danny Cipriani is hoping to become a hero when he makes his debut for England against Ireland on Saturday.

But these embarrassing pictures are more likely to make him a national laughing stock.

The fly-half, who has ousted England stalwart Jonny Wilkinson from his place in the starting line-up, was one of a series of teenage wannabe models who stripped off to strut their stuff on the British version of hit television show My Super Sweet 16.

But despite revealing an enviable set of pectoral muscles, and a perfectly decent broad chest, the 20-year-old was told his services were not required.

Clearly there might have been some mistake, as the fit-looking fly-half looked very much in peak condition.

It's the latest in a series of embarrassments for Cipriani.

Embarrassment: It was the latest in a series of embarrassments for the London-born player, who has previously drawn headlines for dating model Larissa Summers – who was born a man

Last week, the star was dropped after a nightclub jaunt on the eve of his England rugby debut.

The London-born rugby player still lives with his mother, in a £1million home in Raynes Park, London.

And it is reported he dreads her reaction to tabloid tales of his personal life.

Cipriani's hardworking mother Anne worked double shifts as a London cab driver, to save up the money to pay the £5,000-a-year fees at the private school which introduced her son to rugby.

Anne raised him singlehandedly on a housing estate in Putney after his father left to return to his native Trinidad when Danny was a young boy.

He has dated Monica Irimia, of Romanian pop duo the Cheeky Girls, and model Larissa Summers.

Unfortunately Larissa was at the centre of another embarrassing episode for Cipriani, as it was later revealed the model after their liaison, she was actually born a man.

Cipriani will make his full debut on Saturday against Ireland in a game that could save the job of coach Brian Ashton - who only last week dropped him because of a post-midnight visit to a nightclub.
