Witnesses said the Sharpe star leapt to the defence of April Summers after a passer-by made lewd comments.
But despite being left with a bleeding arm and a bruised face Bean refused medical treatment and went back to the bar to order another drink - where pub staff dressed his wound with a first aid kit.
Bean, 52, and Summers, 22, whose real name is Nadia Foster, were smoking outside the Hill Bar and Brasserie in Camden on Sunday evening when a man is said to have come up to them and made offensive remarks about the glamour model.
The actor followed the man down the road to challenge him but returned to the pub. Later, when Bean went outside for another cigarette, he was allegedly attacked with a broken pint glass and punched in the face, according to onlookers.
Bean, who lives nearby and is known for his action-man film roles, reportedly declined to be taken to hospital for medical treatment after the fracas.
A member of staff told the Daily Mail: "Sean is a regular here and we've never had any problems before. He was with a very attractive woman and an incident occurred outside the bar.
"He came in with a cut on his arm and a bruise on his eyebrow. We saw to his injuries with the first aid kit. He seemed OK and wanted to have another drink."
The Sheffield-born actor, who is currently starring in the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones, was unavailable for comment.
Ms Summers, who has appeared topless in publications including Playboy, and also lives near the pub, told reporters she was "fine", but did not want to comment.
Bean divorced his fourth wife Georgina Sutcliffe in December after two years of marriage. He first rose to fame appearing in a BBC production of Lady Chatterley's lover and besides ITV's Sharpe has starred in a number of major Hollywood films including Lord of the Rings.
A Met Police spokeswoman confirmed there was an incident.
