Sienna Miller slashes £300,000 off home asking price

Actress Sienna Miller appears to be just as unlucky in the property market as she is in love.

The ex-girlfriend of Jude Law has slashed £300,000 off the asking price of her London home in recent weeks after failing to sell it for five months.

Taking a hit: Sienna has reduced the asking price of her house

Her quirky two-bedroom house in Paddington is now on the market at £995,000 after originally being put up for sale at £1.295 million in January.

Ms Miller, 27, faces taking a financial hit in excess of £200,000 even if she finds a buyer at the new price. She purchased the "bacherlorette pad" for £1.2 million at the peak of the property boom in 2007.

Bohemian style: Sienna's take on Turkish baths

The Factory Girl star has long been reported as living in salubrious St Johns Wood, but her unassuming Victorian conversion backs on to council flats off the Edgware Road in Paddington.

Fun and interesting: a floating staircase rises from the ground floor where "New York loft meets Moroccan bazaar"

Inside the 2,095 sq ft property, her bohemian style is much in evidence. The entire basement floor has been turned into a sunken Turkish bath tiled in jewel colours and surrounded by cushions. There is a separate adjoining sauna.

On show: the actress's hat collection is part of the decor

The ground floor could be described as Manhattan loft meets Moroccan bazaar, with unusual chairs, lanterns and antiques filling the odd-shaped open plan space. A floating staircase curves up to a mezzanine level and two small double bedrooms, one en-suite.

Another of Ms Miller's former boyfriends, welsh actor Rhys Ifans, used to share the house with her. He moved in as a friend when his houseboat flooded and the pair became an item.

Marc Schneiderman of selling agents Arlington Residential, said: "Our client dropped the price of the property by a significant amount at the end of last month because she is keen to sell quickly.

"We expect this property to appeal to young buyers who are looking for anonymity. It's not a family home but it's a great entertaining space, fun and interesting. Looking at it from the outside you would have no idea how exotic it is inside. Many people nowadays prefer not to broadcast their luxury."

Mr Schneiderman said Ms Miller may consider requests from buyers to leave behind furniture bought to fit in specific places.

The actress also owns a 16th Century cottage near Stroud in Gloucestershire, close to her sister Savannah, with whom she runs fashion label Twenty8Twelve.
